About Pitching

Pitch Day was the pinnacle of our entrepreneurial journey—a moment where dreams turned into actionable realities. Set in the vibrant city of Iași, the day began early, brimming with anticipation and a sense of purpose.

Our eight dynamic teams, each equipped with innovative ideas and hard work, took the stage to present their business concepts to a panel of three esteemed local entrepreneurs. These judges, with their industry expertise and critical eye, evaluated not just the creativity but also the feasibility, scalability, and impact of each idea.

The atmosphere was electric. Teams showcased their meticulously crafted business plans, logos, advertisements, and MVPs through compelling pitches. The room resonated with applause, moments of awe, and the occasional nervous laugh as participants embraced the challenge of speaking confidently before an audience of 80.

Each pitch was a testament to the participants’ dedication, featuring well-researched business plans, visually captivating logos, engaging advertisements, and comprehensive MVPs. The audience of peers and mentors was captivated by the diversity of ideas and the passion behind each project.

After much deliberation, the jury announced the top three winners:

1st Place: Open Minds School
With their inspiring mission to revolutionize STEM education, Open Minds School impressed the jury with their comprehensive approach to personalized learning and their commitment to empowering future innovators.
2nd Place: Hoop Up
The trampoline basketball park won hearts with its unique blend of fun and fitness. Hoop Up demonstrated a clear vision, strong financial potential, and a creative way to engage diverse audiences.
3rd Place: Virtual Horizon VR
Virtual Horizon VR showcased the power of technology in transforming education. Their immersive VR solutions for schools and corporations stood out as a forward-thinking approach to bridging gaps in traditional learning.

Jury Presentation

Our jury for the HubLab Pitch Event consists of successful entrepreneurs from Iasi, Romania, each representing a different field of expertise. Their role is to evaluate the business ideas presented by the teams, offering valuable feedback and insights. With their entrepreneurial experience, the jury will assess the innovation, feasibility, and potential impact of each project, helping guide participants toward success in the business world.

Andrei Sorin Baciu is a visionary entrepreneur who began his business journey at age 12, helping manage commercial activities in Botoșani County. He later founded the Brickmann brand, becoming Romania’s first producer of modular Lego-style bricks. After a successful exit, he expanded into industrial equipment and machinery, providing advanced technologies such as industrial lasers and robots to help companies optimize their operations. His entrepreneurial success spans various industries, showcasing his ability to create and scale innovative and profitable businesses.

My name is Silviu Petrariu, I am a trainer and a Conflict & Peace Coach, area in which I have developed my business, the Agency of Conflicts and Training, which is supporting people in their growth, empowering them to get a better outcome in their lives. My background is coming from a Masters Degree in Conflict Management and several years of trainings in the topic of community development, Erasmus+ and other trainings, he enjoys working with people and supporting them in achievieng a better view of themselves and of the world.

An economist by profession, Dan ZAHARIA has over 20 years of experience in management, sales and real estate development. Trainer and speaker at various business and academic events, he owns the company Extind, where he is in charge of renting modern office buildings IASI, being a promoter of positioning successful regional cities as a magnet for the IT & Outsourcing industry. He is founder of the Fab Lab Iasi coworking space and publisher of the regional TECH industry magazine PINmagazine
